Tune in this Thursday (6/24) for a special interview & in-studio performance from Man Forever, the new percussion-heavy project led by Brooklyn-based multi-intstrumentalist & Oneida/People of the North drummer Kid Millions.  The group, who have been described as "a punk-infused Metal Machine Music for drums", have a brand new record out on Thrill Jockey (Pansophical Cataract) and are currently touring North America.  You can catch them at the Nightlight in Chapel Hill (http://www.nightlightclub.com) with Le Weekend & Conspicuous Convulsion tomorrow night.  But first, they'll be stopping by WXDU for a special in-studio treat.  The fun begins around 3:00pm.  Be sure to visit our Twitter page (twitter.com/wxdu) for any updates.

Tonight 4/2--Siltbreeze Records on the College Radio Primer

TONIGHT (4/2) on the College Radio Primer, we spend a full FOUR HOURS tracing the history of Philadelphia's Siltbreeze Records and its impact on the outer fringes of indie rock through the 80s, 90s, 00s and today.  Started in 1989 by fanzine writer Tom Lax, Siltbreeze helped bridge a gap between the avant-garde and indie rock, releasing records from some of experimental rock's most influential artists: The Dead C, Charalambides, Harry Pussy, The Shadow Ring, Strapping Fieldhands, Alan Licht and many, many more.  Hear them all TONIGHT, 8PM-12AM.  Listen live on 88.7 FM or stream it at http://www.wxdu.org

Rough Trade 1977-1981 TONIGHT (11/7) on College Radio Primer 8-10pm

Tune in to College Radio Primer tonight for a glimpse into the groundbreaking post-punk sound of Rough Trade Records.  Influenced by the DIY techniques pioneered by early punk groups like the Buzzcocks, Desperate Bicycles & Scritti Pollitti, Geoff Travis (with help from a group of like-minded friends/music nuts) would turn his tiny West London record shop into one of the UK's most exciting & influential independent record labels.  Along the way he would release singles & albums from a wide variety of artists, including the Swell Maps, Delta 5, Television Personalities, James Blood Ulmer, This Heat, Monochrome Set, The Pop Group, LiLiPUT, Young Marble Giants and tons more.  Hear it all TONIGHT, 8-10pm
