Curtis Eller's American Circus will be joining us on I Liked You Better Before You Sold Out on Sunday 1/26, to celebrate their upcoming album, "How to Make It In Hollywood"! (Or,  in their words, "latest phonographic recording"!) They'll be chatting and playing live as well - Curtis might not be on the desk doing his signature kicks, but I can't promise he won't be.  If you miss him doing so, catch them for their release party at Motorco Music Hall on Friday, 1/31.  Tune in at 7 pm!

Head On Booking & Management Showcase on Sunday 5/26

On Sunday 5/26, WXDU's local music interview show, I Liked You Better Before You Sold Out, will be making its return! Starting things off will be a preview of the Head On Booking & Management Showcase, which will be happening at Southern Rail in Carrboro June 8th.  Guests will be Roberto Cofresi of New Town Drunks, whose new record, Kiss, we'll be playing, Michael Rank of Stag, who just released a new record also, The Weeds, and another album, Mermaids, set for later this year.  Mark Holland, a local veteran, will also be joining us and discussing his latest projects as a solo artist.  Phil Venable, the organizer and head of Head On, will be rounding things up.  Join us from 6-7 pm.

Hopscotch Music Festival Preview Show Sunday 8/19

It's that time of year again, for The Independent Weekly's Hopscotch Music Festival, running September 6-8 in downtown Raleigh! As previously mentioned, WXDU will be hosting an event with Three Lobed Recordings, but we'll also be doing a preview that will showcase many of the bands that will be at the festival this year.  Because 35% of the artists performing at Hopscotch are local, it'd be a good time to look at the others coming through town as well.  On this edition of I Liked You Better Before You Sold Out, Grayson Currin, co-founder of Hopscotch and music editor of the Indy, will be coming by for an interview as well.  Tune in from 8-9 pm.
