WXDU's Mission
WXDU, as a member of the Duke University Union, exists to inform, educate, and entertain both the students of Duke University and the surrounding community of Durham through quality progressive alternative radio programming. WXDU seeks to give its staff the freedom to pursue their personal aesthetic within the framework of a cohesive format. WXDU aims to provide the listener with an alternative viewpoint untainted by commercial interests. WXDU resolves to maintain good relations with the music industry without compromising its integrity and nationally recognized commitment to quality programming. WXDU resolves to remain a laboratory where all members are free to make and learn from their mistakes.

"Close Up the Honky Tonks," rotating Americana show, starts Saturday

WXDU announces the addition of "Close Up the Honky Tonks," a new rotating Americana show, to the fall schedule.

"Close Up the Honky Tonks" starts this Saturday, September 20 and airs every Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.

Each week a new WXDU DJ will host, offering a wide variety of rockin' country, bluegrass and folk tunes, as well as some rootsier rock selections. Listen in this fall to hear theme shows, artist showcases and much more. And put in your requests to help shape the show!

We hope you'll tune in to "Close Up the Honky Tonks," Saturdays this fall from noon to 2 p.m. Listen in at 88.7 FM and WXDU.org.

 

 

 

Jukebox Graduates: Githens Middle Springsteen radio club - Sunday, 4/6 at 6 p.m.

WXDU welcomes Jukebox Graduates to the airwaves this Sunday, April 6, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Jukebox Graduates is Githens Middle School's Bruce Springsteen radio club. Sunday's program is the first installment and will feature original content from these Durham students, as well as music from The Boss and other artists.
