WXDU, as a member of the Duke University Union, exists to inform, educate, and entertain both the students of Duke University and the surrounding community of Durham through quality progressive alternative radio programming. Nathan Salsburg and Phil Cook will be live in the studio tonight at 5:00 to talk about their new releases and work with Alan Lomax recordings.

Nathan Salsburg is a guitarist and has a new record released by No Quarter called Hard For to Win and Can't Be Won that's currently on playlist. He is also the curator of the Alan Lomax Archive research.culturalequity.org/home-audio.jsp

Local musican and all around bud to WXDU, Phil Cook, just released This Side Up on Trekky Records. As a part of Megafaun, Phil collaborated with Fight the Big Bull and Justin Vernon to create Sounds of the South, a performance originally commissoned by Duke in 2010 that reinterpreted Alan Lomax field recordings.

Nathan and Phil will also be performing tonight at 118 Newell St. in Durham starting at 8:00.
