WXDU's Mission
WXDU, as a member of the Duke University Union, exists to inform, educate, and entertain both the students of Duke University and the surrounding community of Durham through quality progressive alternative radio programming. WXDU seeks to give its staff the freedom to pursue their personal aesthetic within the framework of a cohesive format. WXDU aims to provide the listener with an alternative viewpoint untainted by commercial interests. WXDU resolves to maintain good relations with the music industry without compromising its integrity and nationally recognized commitment to quality programming. WXDU resolves to remain a laboratory where all members are free to make and learn from their mistakes.

Sublime Frequencies special tomorrow! Nov. 28th

Join us Monday Nov. 28 from 8-10 PM as we plumb the depths of beloved Seattle label Sublime Frequencies' output. The label is headed by Alan Bishop, of the experimental band Sun City Girls (1979-2007), along with Hisham Mayet, and releases esoteric original and live recordings, re-released music, field recordings etc. (and DVDs) mainly from Southeast Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.  There's a lot to choose from... decisions decisions!  Send, call in requests!

 

WXDU's 5th annual Record Fair!!!

WXDU proudly presents its 5th annual Record Fair on Saturday October 16th from 11am-4pm, in conjunction with the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University's exhibit 'The Record.'* The fair will be held inside the museum and all are welcome.  Admission is free (for the fair and for the museum!) and dealers from across the region will be on-hand selling vinyl records, cds, memorabilia, and more.

First Annual Milltown Record Swap this Saturday

Didn't get enough at the WXDU Record Fair last month? Hot on its heels...

Clarque and Caroline Blomquist will be hosting the first annual Milltown Record Swap and Vinyl Fair at Milltown in Carrboro Saturday Oct 10 from 2 to 6 pm.  Details:
* Local record labels, bands, distributors and collectors are invited to showcase and trade new releases, catalog and merchandise.
* Bring your own vinyl, CDs, posters, box sets, etc to sell and trade.
* NO TABLE FEE * ALL AGES WELCOME * FOOD AND DRINK SPECIALS ALL DAY
