WXDU, as a member of the Duke University Union, exists to inform, educate, and entertain both the students of Duke University and the surrounding community of Durham through quality progressive alternative radio programming. WXDU seeks to give its staff the freedom to pursue their personal aesthetic within the framework of a cohesive format. WXDU aims to provide the listener with an alternative viewpoint untainted by commercial interests. WXDU resolves to maintain good relations with the music industry without compromising its integrity and nationally recognized commitment to quality programming. WXDU resolves to remain a laboratory where all members are free to make and learn from their mistakes.

duke and non-duke community members and students, wxdu is holding an info session for people who would like to be deejays. If you have any interest in deejaying at wxdu, come to the duke coffeehouse at 7:00 pm on wednesday, september 9. both musical and non-music deejays are welcome to learn about fall training and meet an awesome group of wxdu members.

the triangle college radio stations (from UNC, NC STATE, and DUKE) have joined forces to bring you
a MEGA hopscotch day party
at KINGS and also NEPTUNES
on FRIDAY 11 SEPT
it's gonna be CATERED by NEOMONDE
and neptunes will be 18+ instead of its usual 21+ door
of course as per usual this day party will be completely FREE......no need to purchase festival tickets in order to attend

The WXDU Local Music Series presents Heads on Sticks, Drag Sounds, and Trashettes at the Duke Coffeehouse on Friday, March 28. Come out and support some of the best in local music. Doors are at 8, show starts at 9.

Show attendees will have the opportunity to win a pair of passes to Moogfest, the upcoming electronic music festival to be held April 23 - 27 in Asheville, North Carolina.

WXDU Presents: Thee Cuckoo Mash!

October 26th, 9pm-1am at the Duke Coffeehouse

Duke University's radio station WXDU and Who's Got The Cuckoo (WXDU's weekly garage rock show), invites you to a free garage rock themed "Cuckoo Mash" costume and dance party at the Duke Coffeehouse, Saturday October 26th, 2013. A costume contest, tee-shirt giveaway, and horrifically fantastic food will be featured.  Hosted by WXDU DJs Nick, Robby, and Tom, they'll be spinning the best 50s and 60s Halloween-themed garage rock tunes. Local bands The Cryptics (60s garage rock) and Phatlynx (Link Wray-esque surfabilly) will also perform. Earlier that day at the Coffeehouse WXDU will also be hosing the Record Fair from 11am-4pm; it'll be a big day for record nerds of all ages!
