XTC at their finest: Pre-Dukes of Stratosphear English Psych, and 2 hours of XTC! Sunday's Cuckoo & Mystery Shows

Picture yourself in a boat on a river that leads from 1967's jolly wonderland of English Psychedelia right up to the paisley lollipop of 1985's "25 O'Clock" by the Dukes of Stratosphear. I will play an upsy-daisy assortment of classic English 60s psych that directly influenced the Dukes of Stratosphear (XTC's secret side-project), and a healthy bit of the Dukes as well!

And if that ain't enough, continue further up selfsame river to 2 hours of Robby's favourite XTC songs on WXDU's "Mystery Show" immediately thereafter.

9pm-Midnight EDT Sunday August 23rd, 2009!

Listening to the grass grow,

--DJ Robby

Robby's Top 10 (or so...)

Below are my top 10 (or so) released this year, in no particular order. It's been a pretty good year for music. I've especially enjoyed the reverby vocals of Blitzen Trapper, and the fun vocal mishmosh of Fleet Foxes. Seems that there have been all these bands with "woodsy" themed names in the past few years, just recently reaching a fevered pitch. To wit: Grisly Bear, Fleet Foxes, Department of Eagles, Silver Antlers, The Mountain Goats, Donkeys, Gregory + The Hawk. Many bearded men.

I dug these records this last year:
